How to Build a Weekly Plan Using AI

Late in the season, I started realizing something:
I was still spending too much time trying to organize practice. Not because I didn’t know what I wanted to work on — but because I didn’t have a clean process for figuring out what mattered most right now.

Enter the AI Coach Tools
When I started using AI to support my weekly planning, the biggest shift came from tools that worked together.
First, I tested out an evaluator-style prompt that asked me questions about how our last few games went, what I thought our strengths were, and where we were falling short.
It forced me to reflect — not just “What should we do at practice today?”But “Why is that the most important thing to work on?”
Then I’d take that info and run it through a practice planner prompt that gave me a focused layout for the week — broken down by theme, day, and goal.
It wasn’t just a bunch of drills — it was a structure. And the drills were actually aligned with what we needed.
Time-Saving, Player-Focused AI Weekly Planning
What surprised me most wasn’t the content — it was the flow.
AI helped me plan what mattered first, and then built the days around it.
Sometimes, I used the exact drills it gave me. Other times, I swapped in my own. But either way, I started the week with confidence that my plan had purpose — not just time slots,
and the players noticed.
They saw practices that made sense. They felt the themes. We had more time to teach, more time to compete, and more buy-in from everyone.
Looking Ahead
Eventually, I’ll be sharing the evaluator and planner tools I’ve been building with other coaches.
But for now, if you’re new to AI or want to start shaping your season with a little more clarity and structure — I’d point you here 👇
